St. Patrick’s Day Sight Word Matching Game

March is quickly approaching, which means all things GREEN!  St. Patrick’s Day is one that tends to be ignored by many, but I love creating fun activities for this holiday.  This sight word matching game was so fun to make, and just as fun to play!
Little man has been a little learning sponge lately!  We are getting a lot of letter and number practice and he is now beginning to notice the difference between his letters, numbers and WORDS.  It was time to bring out some sight word games, and this one was perfect for him!I decided to start introducing some sight words, so I created a sight word matching game. I found these fun, foam glitter shamrocks at our local dollar store.  They were a perfect addition to our game.  Yes, I could have cut out shamrocks out of green paper, but the glitter and foam just made the game even better.  I wrote 6 sight words (the, to, and, I, a, you) on the back of some shamrocks.  We played together and as we turned the words over I sang a fun tune for each word.  We’ve played this game a couple times together and he’s loving it…my little boy LOVES to match…and win, of course!
