America. American symbols, history, Presidents, customs and holidays are a lot of information to teach little learners. However, how do you teach all of the information required without overwhelming your little ones? Well, worry no more. This lapbook is a great resource for during and after instruction. It helps you reteach and review information about our country.
A lapbook is a fun resource for students to create. This All About America lapbook provides learners with the information they need to know about our country.
What’s Included?
There are many holidays that we cover throughout the year. Of course, some of those include American holidays. In this lapbook, there are four holidays that students will learn about: Independence Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day and Constitution Day.
Each holiday has a description that is matched to the correct holiday. Then, a brief overview helps students learn about each holiday. Next, a quick review of what they learned.
Main ideas and details help teach important information. By providing the main idea, it allows the learners to create details they need to build a foundation for understanding. First, read books about the jobs of the President. Also, read books about what it looks like to be a good citizen. After that, have your learners write details to each of those ideas. By elaborating, learners will be able to have a better understanding of both concepts.
Having a visual resource to use throughout the unit helps learners remember the information they are learning. American symbols, Presidents and money is taught during the unit.
Also, the Pledge of Allegiance is included in the lapbook to help learners practice reciting the pledge. With all of the parts of the lapbook, students learn, review and enjoy all the information they study about America.
