Free Lesson Plans Template

How is school already around the corner?  Summer has seriously flown by.  I love having the kids at home, having no type of schedule and hanging out at the water park all week.  However, I’m ready for a little more consistency in our life.  I think my kids are ready for it as well.  I know teachers are now scrambling to get a head start on the upcoming year planning.  How about those lesson plans?  That’s one thing that I made a point to get ahead on.

I have to admit.  When I first started teaching, I spent hours trying to find the right lesson plan template.  I was so new to teaching that creating one didn’t really cross my mind.  I wanted it to be done for me. After my first year and I felt like I had a handle on things, I decided to create one that best fit me.

Getting the Most Out of this Template

The first thing I love about this template is how I place it in my lesson plan binder.  With this way, I can have the entire week open and visible.

The top boxes are the perfect place to organize your schedule and subjects.  I like to put the times of my blocks.  The first few weeks of school are so busy, that I tend to forget when my math block ends and my literacy block begins.

The large boxes are for you to place your lessons, standards and any notes you might need to run a smooth lesson.

The bottom boxes are where I like to put my literacy and math centers, as well as my morning tubs.

And no teacher can go without washi tape!  Of course, I love to use this fun tape to separate parts of the boxes.  I also love using these 3M stickers for quick reminders such as someone leaving the room, to do a specific task during the lesson, or fire drills or any other drill that will happen.

Let me take one more thing off your plate.  You can grab this FREE lesson plan template by clicking on the download button below!

Oh man, the first few weeks of school are just so stressful.  There were many years where I got so caught up in everything that I forgot to plan my first week of school!  Has that happened to you?  Well, no more!  I just made your life a lot easier with my Back to School Pack!

Have you planned for your morning calendar and circle time?  In my Calendar and Circle Time Pack, you have everything to run a smooth and successful circle time!

My All About Me lapbook is a wonderful activity to have on your students’ desks the first few days.  It’s also a great way to get to know all of your students!
