Hand Washing Procedures for the Classroom

This post may contain affiliate links.  Please read our disclosure here.

Each school year starts off the same. Classroom procedures and expectations are a huge part of the first few weeks of a Pre-K and Kindergarten curriculum. One big part of this is how we keep ourselves safe from germs! Hand washing procedures are an absolute must with little ones.

This activity goes really well with the Stay Away From Germs free resource. Use them both during the first few weeks of school to cover those health standards along with reminding those little ones about cleanliness!

Start With a Mini Lesson

Yes. Mini lessons are a perfect time to teach hand washing. Everything you teach is introduced in a mini lesson! I’ve provided separate cards for each step to clean hands. You can present each step and place in a pocket chart. Follow up each day and see how well your little ones remember from the day before!

Use your favorite books on hand washing! I recommend the following:

Visuals in the Classroom

Along with the mini lesson resource, you’ll also get posters to hang the hallways or classroom restrooms!
