We are having so much fun with our Thanksgiving activities. Teaching little learners the story of the first Thanksgiving can be done easily by reading books and completing this Interactive Thanksgiving Lapbook.  This lapbook teaches the story of the Pilgrims and how the Wampanoag Indians helped them survive the cold winter.

This  lapbook is easy to put together while teaching Thanksgiving to your little ones.  Add a section each day as you teach about the story.

Thanksgiving Books

Here are a list of some books we read while teaching the story of Thanksgiving…

The Story of the Pilgrims by Katharine Ross

The Pilgrim’s First Thanksgiving by Ann McGovern

Squanto’s Journey by Joseph Bruchac

The Very First Thanksgiving Day by Rhonda Gowler Greene

Thanksgiving Lapbook

While reading the books throughout the week, work together to complete the lapbook.  I love that this lapbook is a way for your students to retell a story.  Each section provides information that will guide your students to retell what they learned.
