You can edit each sight word card, which provides you with a year long activity! Another benefit to having an editable resource is that you can create different sets of cards based on the level of your students. Differentiation is so important to meet your learners where they’re at!
Once you download this free resource, it’s so easy to prep! If you don’t have Adobe Reader, it’s a free download that will allow you to edit the words on this resource.
Open the resource in Adobe Reader and read over the editing instructions!
Next, look for the sight word cards shaded in blue. Delete the word that is included and add your own sight words OR spelling words!
When you’re done, just save and print! Be sure to laminate so you can use them multiple times!
Multiple Ways to Use These Cards!
I use these cards just how they were intended to be used–students walk around the room to search for each card to add to their recording sheet. However, there are so many other ways you can use these cards!
- Hide each card around the room for a hide and seek type activity
- Use these cards to practice spelling patterns
- Create a headbandz type game to practice reading words quickly
Another part of this free resource is the recording sheet. When your students find a card, they find the card number on the recording sheet and follow the directions! Some words can be used in a sentence and others are just spelling practice.
