SPIDER COUNTING

This post may contain affiliate links.  Please read our disclosure here.

It’s that time of year where you see those creepy crawling spiders everywhere in stores. Those are the only spiders that I allow in my house, and I can handle it for the short amount of time! Of course, when I found these fun spider erasers, a spider counting game to mind. And it’s perfect for our Halloween unit!

Spider Counting Song

To the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, this fun spider counting song is so much fun to sing! Your little one will be singing it all day and counting everything in sight.

Not only can you sing this song with your learners, but you can practice vocabulary words with them. ‘Spiders’, ‘spin’, ‘web’ all go well together and create a quick, but effective vocabulary lesson for this unit.

This song is catchy and will easily stick in the minds of children. And you can also throw in a quick rhyming review with it! Who knew that a simple and fun song can cover so many important skills!

Counting Practice

This spider counting has so many good benefits for your young learner. First, you start with reading and singing the song. Next, you choose a number card. Then, you count that number of spiders and place them on the web. I like to use the spider erasers from the Target Dollar Spot, but you can use any spider manipulative!

One to one counting is great practice for little ones heading to pre-k or kindergarten. You’ll find that your little one will end up counting everything in sight!
