Winter months are here, which mean colder temps and more inside learning. I find it hard to get students motivated during the winter months due to the cold and wet weather. Usually, there are a few days a week where we are all crammed in the classroom all day not seeing an ounce of outside time. This is the perfect time to pull out some digital resources to keep your learners engaged! This winter rhyming digital activity is perfect for when learning has to stay indoors!
New to Digital Activities?
No worries! This free resource is compatible with Google Slides™ and Seesaw™. Both platforms are a great option. Most districts will decide what platform they recommend, so I offered these resources for both.
If you’re new to Google Slides™, you can read more from the post below:
These simple steps will get you set up in no time!
If you’re new to Seesaw™, you can head over to their website and find out how to assign activities to your class!
A Perfect Pair
I came across this amazing winter themed book the other day. Red Sled is a great book when teaching rhyming skills! It’s about a boy and his father who trek up a huge hill to sled down. The pictures tell a wonderful story while the rhyming text focuses on that particular skill.
This simple rhyming text is perfect for early readers and it pairs well with this free digital activity.
A Great Literacy Center
This free winter rhyming digital activity is perfect for a literacy center in your classroom. Each slide consists of a picture and text. Your learner will easily click on a rhyming picture that pairs with the featured image.
I love digital activities in the classroom because your learners can sit anywhere in the classroom! Use an iPad or iPhone, set them off to a comfy chair and grade their work when they are done!
